Define What the Printed Film Must Do After Curing

The choice is not only “rigid material versus flexible material.” Ask what happens after printing: Will the part remain flat, be cut, routed, laminated, wrapped, formed or repeatedly flexed? What surface preparation is approved? Which appearance and resistance checks matter to the customer?

Prepare the real production material. Use the actual supplier, finish, thickness and pretreatment planned for the job.
Use the documented printer, profile and cure conditions. Do not transfer settings from another ink family.
Print a controlled coupon. Include color, white or clear layers only when those channels are approved for the configured printer.
Evaluate the completed workflow. Inspect adhesion, appearance, finishing and the amount of movement the final part will actually experience.
Record the result. Keep the material lot, ink batch, profile and test date with the approved sample.
