Use only the approved fluid and method. UV, DTF/pigment, eco-solvent, aqueous, and other ink systems do not automatically use the same maintenance fluid. Do not choose alcohol, household cleaner, an unknown flush, or a stronger solvent from generic advice. Confirm the printer and ink supplier's procedure, and never mix cleaning fluids.

Decide Whether Cleaning Is Enough or Replacement Is Safer

Cleaning may be reasonable when the correct procedure removes surface residue and the blade remains straight, flexible, secure, and undamaged. Replacement is the safer path when the blade is cut, permanently curled, swollen, hardened, cracked, loose, or no longer matches the holder and wiping geometry.

  • Do not trim a damaged edge or reverse the blade unless the machine documentation explicitly supports that procedure.
  • Do not assume blue and black blades differ only by color; material, hardness, profile, and application can vary by listing.
  • After a verified replacement, run the printer's approved maintenance check and compare a new nozzle test.
