Product Details
xUVINKPRO UV PP Pretreatment Coating is a UV printing pretreatment coating for tested pp substrates. It is not UV ink and it is not UV varnish. Test adhesion, curing, surface preparation, and ink-system compatibility on the actual substrate before production.
UVINKPRO UV PP Coating
UVINKPRO UV PP Coating is engineered for low-surface-energy polypropylene. It flashes off under UVA lamps, forming a flexible, high-gloss shield that locks onto PP films and sheets to prevent scratching, scuffing and ink rub-off.
Key Benefits
- Instant UV cure — production speed depends on equipment and settings
- Special adhesion promoters ensure 0–1 cross-cut on PP
- Flexible film resists cracking on folded or thermo-formed parts
- Excellent chemical, water & abrasion resistance
- Low-odor formulation; supplier documents can be checked on request where applicable
Recommended Uses
- PP labels, stickers & cards
- Food-grade or cosmetic packaging sleeves
- Advertising boards, display panels, POP graphics
- Folded boxes, promotional items and tags
Technical Specs
- Viscosity (25 °C): 220 – 380 cP
- Optimal cure dose: 800 – 1100 mJ/cm² UVA
- Gloss: 88 + GU @ 60° (gloss version)
- Elongation at break: > 90 %
- Shelf life: 12 months (sealed, 20 – 25 °C)

Recommended Substrates
- Recommended for PP sheets, PP packaging materials, PP boards, and other low-surface-energy plastic substrates.
- Used to improve adhesion, surface performance, or bonding stability before or after printing depending on the production workflow.
- Always test on the actual substrate and curing setup before full production.
Compatibility Notes
- Confirm the coating process together with your UV ink, printhead configuration, and curing energy before bulk use.
- Check whether the surface requires cleaning, flame treatment, corona treatment, or another pre-treatment process.
- For stable production, confirm application thickness, drying or curing conditions, and final adhesion requirements.
Typical Applications
- Industrial decoration, promotional products, rigid signage, packaging, and specialty surface printing.
- Workflows where buyers need better adhesion and more reliable surface performance on difficult materials.
- Suitable for sampling, small-batch production, and scale-up after adhesion testing is approved.
Surface Preparation Checklist
- For PP and similar low-surface-energy plastics, surface treatment is often critical before printing.
- Run a small adhesion test before production and confirm whether wiping, degreasing, flame treatment, or corona treatment is required.
- Check coating thickness, flash-off or drying time, and UV curing energy before moving from sample work to batch production.
Workflow Notes
- Confirm whether the coating is used as a primer, adhesion promoter, or post-treatment step in your printing workflow.
- Buyers usually validate cross-hatch adhesion, tape test results, scratch resistance, and final appearance on the real substrate first.
- Use this product only after confirming compatibility with your UV / UV LED printing process and target material.
Buying Notes
- If the same material is supplied by multiple factories, test each substrate batch because surface energy can vary.
- For export or contract production, lock down the approved process window before ordering larger volumes.
- When in doubt, request a sample workflow or confirm the intended application with your production engineer before purchase.
